Description
William of Smeaton and his wife Emma, for their sustenance and in their necessity, and for their alleviation from poverty, have given, granted, and quitclaimed to Dunfermline Abbey in perpetuity, all feudum and right that they had in the feu of Smeaton (MLO), with all pertinents, easements and liberties by which Gilbert of Smeaton and Nicholas his son held the same land from the house of Dunfermline. They obligate themselves to observe this faithfully and perpetually, and have given it into the hands of the lord abbot of Dunfermline.
