Description
Alan son of Walter, for the souls of his lords King David, Earl Henry, King Malcolm and his father Walter son of Alan (I), himself and his spouse Eva, has granted, given, and by this his charter established to Newbattle Abbey one full toft which is near his garden on the west side in the villa of Renfrew, and a rete on the Water of Clyde, in pure and perpetual alms, free and quit from all exaction and secular custom.
