Description
William, bishop of Glasgow, and the chapter of that church, bear witness that the abbot and convent of Paisley has subjected themselves in perpetuity to the authority of their (the bishops of Glasgow’s) authority, who may compel them to the annual payment of 40 marks to the Order of Sempringham on Pentecost at Dryburgh Abbey, on a penalty of £20, except in the case of war.
