The Abbot and Convent of Paisley write to the Abbot of Cluny, informing him that their patron, Walter, son of Alan, the King's Steward and Justiciar of Scotland, who is one of the more powerful men of the kingdom, has a devotion towards the Cistercians, and would have them transfer to that order.
