Description
Robert de Quincy has given and granted and by this his charter established to Holyrood Abbey one ploughgate of land and ten acres in the territory of Tranent (ELO) towards ‘Phaeside’ (Falside Hill, ELO) by exchange for that ploughgate of land of Preston (ELO) which was disputed between Robert and the monks of Newbattle, which they quitclaimed for the aforesaid exchange. Robert de Quincy has given, and granted and by this his charter established to the aforesaid canons the aforesaid land with ten acres of land, in pure and perpetual alms, with common pasture of his men of Tranent, and with free passage to the said common pasture.
