Document 2/6/89 (Holy. Lib., no. 82)

Description
Matthew, bishop of Dunkeld, states that he has produced this charter so that he may make unshakable and firm the donations, grants and confirmations of the church of Melginch (PER) [which were made] by his predecessors, through the consent and assent of his chapter of Dunkeld, with all its rights, and the pertinents of Holyrood Abbey. He also establishes by the present [charter that] the donations, grants and confirmations the church of Melginch, with all its rights and pertinents, are to be possessed for Holyrood’s own use perpetually, as his predecessors made, established and firmly managed. And if a fault may occur in any of the donations, grants or confirmations, the bishop supplies and corrects that fault or those faults, if they should be numerous. However, the bishop reserves the jurisdiction of the ordinary and diocesan.
