- Adam, prior of St Andrews, and the convent of the same place, want all to know that have inspected a certain letter of Lord William, bishop of St Andrews, which was authenticated by his seal and records his donation, grant and confirmation of the vicarage of Heriot (ELO) to the abbot and convent of Newbattle [which he] provided to them for their sole use. The canons confirm this donation, grant and confirmation, in all things, in perpetuity, to the monks of Newbattle, by their unanimous consent and assent.
