Description
At the same place [Clunie] on 28 June, in the year of the Lord [1296] and Indiction [9th] as above, in the presence of the witnesses last written, and the Notary; the lord Archibald of Livingston, knight, attaining the trust and good will of the lord king of England of his own accord, entirely annulled any alliances, contracts, agreements and pacts he might have entered into with the king of the French against his lord the king of England, in so far as they related to him; and having touched and kissed the gospels, he performed fealty to the lord king of England, and drawing up letters patent upon his fealty, he sealed them with his pendant seal.
