- Description
- Brother Bernard, abbot of Arbroath, in the name of himself and all of his convent, has granted and leased at ferme to lord David, bishop of Moray, all his land of Bught near Inverness (INV), from the feast of Pentecost in the year 1311, until the conclusion of five years, for five marks of silver which the bishop rendered by hands to the monks in their great need, which money they confess by the present [charter] is to be converted for their use and for the use of their monastery. This land is to be held and had by the bishop or his assignees until to the aforesaid terminus, with all the easements, etc., save the teinds and other rights of the monks’ mother-church of Inverness. The abbot and convent promise warrandice.
