Description
Brother Bernard, abbot of Arbroath, and the convent of the same place, state that they ordain and establish, by this present [charter] and by the unanimous consent of their whole chapter, Lord Nicholas of Lundie, their beloved fellow monk, the chamberlain of their house, their procurator and the procurator of their monastery, to lease their church of Inverness (INV) to whichever personae he shall be able to arrange, and shall have seen fit to procure, and especially if he shall be able to arrange this with lord David, bishop of Moray, until the end of five years. And in relation to the lease which is to be arranged [by him], and which is to be affirmed by their name, they fully give and grant to him, by the tenor of the present [charter], the power, authority, and grace to have whatever he may have considered necessary by their name.
