Description
Robert, king of Scots, addresses his justiciars, sheriffs, grieves and their bailies, etc. and states that because his highest parliament held at Inchture put forward an ordinance that his burghs or his burgesses should not negotiate through anyone or anybody except through his chamberlain and his ministers; and that military service, tallages or contributions produced or made by anyone or anybody should be mediated by the chamberlain and his ministers; he mandates and orders the justiciars and sheriffs, etc. that they should by no means allow the burghs or burgesses to go against this his ordinance.
