Document 1/51/18 (Glas. Reg., no. 250)

John, king of Scots, has granted to Glasgow Cathedral and Robert, bishop of Glasgow and his successors, that they may have and hold the lands of 'Balliol's land', 'Fothyrgyl' and 'Ryesdale' with pertinents in Cunningham, in free forest. Which lands and pertinents the late Lady Dervorguilla, his mother, gave to the church, bishop and his successors in perpetuity for the maintenance of four chaplains celebrating in the church for her soul and the souls of her predecessors and successors. John prohibits anyone in the lands from hunting without license from the bishop on pain of forfeiture.
