Document 3/90/14 (Beauly Chrs., no. 8)

Description
Cecilia Bisset, spouse of the late Sir William of Fenton, in her legitimate widowhood and full power, for the salvation of her soul, and the souls of her ancestors and successors, has given, granted and by this her persent charter established to Beauly Priory, the whole third part of the land of Altyre (now Kilmorack, INV), which pertains to her by hereditary right, to be held and had in free, pure and perpetual alms, with all its pertinents and correct marches, with various specified easements, and with everything else belonging to the land, thus named as not named. Cecilia promises warrandice.
Firm date
March 1314 X 17 April 1325
Dating Notes
witnessed by Sir Patrick of Graham (_ScP_, vi, 203), released from captivity March 1314 (his death or that of the grantor would provide a terminus ante; if editor is right that _Beauly Chrs._, no. IX is later than this, its final date, 17 April 1325, would apply here also, but what is the reason for that?)
