Description
William and Robert, bishops of St Andrews and Glasgow, John Comyn and James Stewart, Guardians of the realm of Scotland, noting that since certain obligations and instruments between lord Antony and R., bishops of Durham and Carlisle, sirs John and Henry, earls of Warenne and Lincoln, W. de Vescy, knight, and Henry of Newark, dean of York, special procurators and messengers of lord Edward, king of England, for one part, and themselves for the other, have been made concerning the betrothal and marriage between lord Edward son and heir of the said king of England and their lady Margaret, daughter of the lord Erik, king of Norway, they wish, granted and by these letters oblige themselves that those instruments made at Birgham in colloquium on 18 July 1290, shall remain in force if approved by King Edward, but shall be null if not approved.
