Description
Boniface VIII writes to Nicholas, bishop of Brechin, noting that as the church of Brechin, pertaining to the Roman church with no intermediary, is now vacant upon the death of V. [William], bishop of Brechin, and as he has been placed in command by the brethren of the said church, the pope thus appoints him bishop, and states that he is to be consecrated by S., bishop of Tusculum. Concurrent letters to the dean and chapter, to the clergy and people of the diocese and to the king of Scotland.
