Ralph of Whitby, burgess of Berwick-upon-Tweed, has royal letters [which specify that he has] the special licence of the king to carry out trade with his goods and merchandise in diverse parts of the kingdom of the king [of England] until the feast of St Michael nearest in the future, and from the same feast until the completion of one year.
