John, archbishop of York] notes the vacancy of the church of Whithorn, his suffragan, and the election of Master Thomas of Kirkcudbright as bishop and pastor, by the prior and chapter and all the clergy of the diocese. The election having been confirmed by him, he asks the king of Scotland to restore the temporalities to Thomas.
