Description
The king makes known that the donation, concession and confirmation which Philip of Ryedale made by his charter, which the king has inspected, to the master, chaplains and poor of the hospital of Berwick of all lands, possessions and rents which Philip had in the said villa and within the croft adjacent to the villa, and in the villas of Chirnside, Wedderburn, and Whitsome (BWK) within the land of Scotland, and all lands and rents in the villas of Tweedmouth, Bowsden, Gateswick and Hetherslaw, with the mill of Hetherslaw, within the realm of England; the king now establishes to hold in pure and perpetual alms as contained in the said charter. Philip of Ryedale, former burgess of Berwick, has letters of the king of simple protection for 5 years.
