Document 2/97/67 (CDS, ii, no. 1964)

Description
‘Friar’ Thomas de Houburn, his liegeman, canon of St Andrews in Scotland, to the king. Has been at the king’s alms and grace since he was ousted from his priory of Pittenweem by the Scots, and it appears to him that the terms is very long, and the canons where he is wish him to stay with them always, if he gets letters dimissory from his chapter. Wherefore he prays leave to go to his said house to see whether he can remain there, and if not, that he may demand ‘conge’ and letters dimissory to make his profession in these parts.
