Description
The abbot and convent of Melrose pray the king and council for maintenance of the right and franchises of their church in land in Eskdale, granted by the ancestors of Sir Nicholas of Graham, confirmed by many Scottish kings and the court of Rome, in free alms, but from which Sir Nicholas and Sir John his son have ejected their people and imprisoned them, against the king’s peace.
