Description
King Alexander to Ralph, archbishop of Canterbury; writes that Eadmer had asked king for permission to give up the position as bishop. The king and his council asked that Eadmer remain until they could benefit from advice of king of England and Archbishop Ralph, to which Eadmer insisted that he would not stay unless held captive.
