- Description
- Edward I notes to the Barons of the Exchequer that, having been fully informed how Clementia, who was the wife of John de Vescy the son, had a day appointed by writ before Sir Roger Brabazon and his companions, justices of the Bench, at the quinzaine of Easter, to do fealty to us for the things which she holds in the manor of Sprouston (ROX), which is within the realm of Scotland, and how she came before them at the Exchequer there to do her fealty, and that the Barons decided not to admit her, as they certified to the king by their letters; it is the king’s wish that for certain reasons she do her fealty before the Barons at the said Exchequer. When she shall have done it, that they cause it to be made known to the justices. In the same manner it is his wish that they should act in the matter of lady de Vescy, who, as he understands, out to do fealty for the part which she holds in the manor aforesaid.
