Description
Memorandum, that in regard to the villa of Berwick, it is apponted by the king and his council that they should have 60 men-at-arms and 1000 foot soldiers, whereof 100 should be crossbowmen. They should receive the king’s wages in such manner as the sheriff of Roxburgh, the sheriff of Jedburgh and Sir Simon Fraser with one accord have awarded. Other terms follow.
