Description
The king writes to Philip de Verlay [sic Vernay], keeper of the villa of Berwick-on-Tweed, noting that as has granted to William of Gullane, goldsmith, the houses and other tenements which he had before the day the king captured the villa from the Scots, to hold in the manner which he held them on the said day, saving any rights, the king commands Philip to deliver the said lands to William. By the king himself, as reported by the bishop of Durham
