Description
The king has appointed his sworn-man, Simon Lindsay guardian of the lands and tenements of Liddel and Hermitage (ROX) which belonged to John Wake, deceased, who held of the king in chief, on the day which he died; to have with the profits for the sustenance of himself and his men in those parts, saving to Joanna (who was the wife of John) her reasonable dower. By the king himself, as recorded by John of Berwick.
