Description
The king, understanding from the letter lately sent from Exchequer to Sir Edmund de Mauley, late steward of his household, that he owes Sir Robert Leyburn £600 for his wardenship of the castles of Ayr and Cockermouth, commands an assignment in Sir Robert’s favour on the issues of the manors of Penrith and Sowerby for the sum, and that they arrange with Sir John de Mowbray who has a prior assignment for 500 marks. Under the queen’s privy seal as the king has not his own beside him at present.
