Document 5/3/0 (Stevenson, Docs., ii, no. 473)

Description
John, earl of Warenne, writes to John of Langton, chancellor of England, noting that the king commanded Sir Reginald Cheyne in Scotland to receive attorneys of William fitz Warin but the command cannot reach Reginald because of the war; since the death of Sir Richard de Waldegrave, who was constable of Stirling Castle, he has put the said William and his men in the castle to guard it for the king. He has received the attorneys of William, that is, Robet Logan, John of Berkwey and Roger Dru. He prays that the chancellor would cause the letter of the king to be made for him.
