Document 5/1/0 (CDS, v, no. 260)

Description
Privy seal writ from Edward I to the treasurer or his lieutenant and the barons and chamberlains of the exchequer. He is greatly surprised they have sent him so little money. He has been unable to pay his troops. The addressees are strongly charged to send all the money they can as soon as possible. Because his son is joining him, money for the prince and his company is to be sent direct to the king, not Carlisle. Garrisons of Dumfries and Lochmaben are to be supplied according to previous arrangements.
