Description
Letter from William de Bevercotes, clerk, to John of Langton, bishop of Chichester, chancellor. John, abbot of Arbroath had for some time been with him at Berwick for the faith and fealty he owed the king, suffering many deprivations for want to sustenance, which has been carried away by the king’s enemies who are at the said house. Recommends to the chancellor the affairs for which the abbot is coming to court, and of which he will inform him by word of mouth.
