Description
Privy seal writ from King Edward I to James de Dalilegh, the king wishes William de Ponton, who has been in his service in the company of John de St John in Scotland, to stay in the castle of Lochmaben. Dalilegh is ordered to value the horses of Ponton and the men at arms there that are well enough equipped for service. He is also to pay Ponton and the men at arms what wages they should get in advance, as has been paid to others in a similar position.
