Description
Instrument atttesting that in the castle of Norham on 11 June 1291, the four regents of Scotland and the keepers of the castles, resigned the kingdom and its castles to the king as overlord, who thereon restored the kingdom to the regents and the castles to their keepers. Thereafter the nobles and prelates presented to him Alan, bishop of Caithness, as a fit chancellor, and the king appointed him to the said office, adjoining to him Sir Walter de Agmondesham, his own clerk, as socius.
