Description
Alexander, king of Scots, commands and instructs Aymer of Maxwell, sheriff, and the baillies of Peebles that the worthy, sworn, free and law-worthy men of the country are to hold inquisition whether Robert Cruik has deforced the burgesses of Peebles of the peat moss of Waddenshope (PEB), granted to them by King Alexander, his father, and by the king himself; and when the inquisition has been performed they are to send the result, together with this brieve, under their seal, and the seals of whoever else took part in the inquisition, to the king.
