Description
Robert, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful Adam Marshall half of the barony of Manor (PEB) by the following bounds: the demesne land of Manor with the vill of the same barony with the wood of 'Catcluylayn' and the land of 'Glak' (Glack) with pertinents, beginning at 'Glakheuid' and thus from 'Glakheuid' to 'Herchestir' and thus to the 'Blinde Well' and thus until 'Medugal' and thus descending by the water of 'Meners' (Manor Water) on the east side and thus ascending by the said water by the old bounds until the six acres laying next to 'Dunduff' and thus to the east gate of 'Dunduff' and thus until the stone fixed in the land next to 'Mamusgraff' and thus by the old road until 'Cuaford' and thus by one syke on the east side 'le Croley' and thus to the head of that syke until 'Haropfeld' and thus ascending by the flow of the water to 'Crapislaw' and thus descending by the flow of the water to 'Glakheuid' on the north side; with 'le Hope de Meners' by these bounds: beginning at the water of 'Meners' where the burn of 'Langhop' (Langhaugh Burn) falls into the said water, and thus ascending by the said burn until the head of 'Langhop' (Langhaugh) and thus by the flow until the head of 'Crokitgat' and thus descending by 'Crokitgat' to 'Cokplay' between 'Newey' (Newholm) and 'Kirkhop' (Kirkhope) and thus descending to 'Kirksted' and thus descending by the burn of 'Neuway' (Newholm Hope Burn) to the water of 'Meners' (Manor Water) and thus ascending by the said water to the burn of 'Langhopmuth'; with the suit of the vills of Manor and Caverhill; to be held in feu and heritage, performing the service that was owed in the time of King Alexander III.
