Description
Robert, king of Scots, to his chamberlain, justiciars, sheriffs, grieves, escheators and their baillies and other officers: due to the inquest made by his mandate and the retour made to his chapel, it is clear that Holyrood abbey used to receive a tenth of all the profits of escheats and fines made in his courts between the river Avon and Cockburnspath, in the time of King Alexander and his other predecessors. He commands his officers to make this payment to Holyrood.
