Description
Robert, king of Scots, has given Newbattle abbey two parts of the land of Masterton near Newbattle (MLO) with the advowson of the same church, which two parts of land Niall of Carrick and Mariota his spouse, Gilbert of Ayton and Ada of Rossyth his wife resigned by staff and baton in the presence of the nobles of the kingdom, having and holding in perpetuity in pure and perpetual alms, performing suit of his justiciar court at Edinburgh. He firmly prohibits his sheriffs of Edinburgh and their baillies from troubling them in these lands.
