Description
Robert, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful John Lindsay knight son of Simon Lindsay knight for his homage and service all the lands of Wauchopedale (DMF), the whole land of Langriggs in Annandale (DMF), a quarter part of the land of 'Sol'ome' with a rent of 8 marks owed from the land of 'Strechburgis' with the homages of freeholders; this land which Simon held hereditarily was forfeited by Simon by reason of his rebellion against the king; and all the lands of 'Blakhall', 'Ewichdores' and a quarter part of the land of 'Sol'om' which belonged to the late Isabel mother of the said John and the spouse of the said Simon, which Simon also forfeited for the term of his life (?); holding in feu and heritage, for the service customarily owed in the time of King Alexander III.
