Description
Robert, king of Scots, has granted Melrose abbey that they have all their land within the barony of Westerker (DMF) in free, pure and perpetual alms, which they held under the lordship of the late John Soulis knight, who died in France, holding in free forest, with courts and escheats pertaining to free forest, until the time when the heirs of John Soulis may recover this half barony judicially and be justly saised of the land by the king's hands. He forbids anyone from fowling, hunting, or fishing on penalty of his full forfeiture.
