Description: Robert, king of Scots, in honour of God and the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Thomas the Martyr has given Arbroath abbey the right of patronage or advowson of the church of St Kentigern of Kirkmahoe (DMF) in the diocese of Glasgow, for the salvation of his sould, and the souls of his ancestors and successors the kings of Scotland, and especially for the souls of those whose bodies are resting in the Lord in the church our outside in the cemetery, holding in pure and perpetual alms, as freely as any alms given in his kingdom by his predecessors the kings of Scotland.
