Description
Robert, king of Scots, to the bishop of Glasgow, informing that he has given Melrose abbey the right of patronage and advowson of the church of Westerker in Eskdale (DMF), in pure and perpetual alms, as freely as any alms in the kingdom of Scotland, saving the right of the rector. The bishop and chapter may wish to confer the aforesaid church to the abbot and convent the pontifical and ecclesiastical dignity with all rights and commodities for their own uses out of divine piety and the king's devotion.
