- Robert, king of Scots, with competent deliberation, has diligently inspected and truly understood the confirmation of Earl Henry, father of King Malcolm IV and King William I, to Jedburgh abbey and found it to be neither erased, nor cancelled, nor in any way destroyed, in the following words: [Chrs David I, no. 175; H3/3/14]. He has approved, ratified, and confirmed this in pure and perpetual alms.
