- David, king of Scots, has granted that donation which his beloved and faithful marischal Robert of Keith, knight, made to John Maitland his nepos of the whole barony of 'Colbannyston' (Covington, LAN); holding in feu and heritage by John and his legitimate male heirs, with advowson or right of patronage of the church of Covington with the freeholders of the whole barony, as the charter of Robert to John attests, saving the king's service.
