Description
David, king of Scots, to the sheriff of Edinburgh and his baillies of Haddington and of Linlithgow, noting that he understands through inspection of charters by his predecessors the kings of Scots to Dunfermline abbey regarding their freedom from tallages, carriages, prises, captions and suits. He commands them not to act contrary to the liberties and privileges of God, St Margaret, and the said religious, as concerns them and their men living on their lands in the bailliary.
