Document 2/10/252 A (NLS, Cartulary of Scone Abbey (14c), fol. xviii)

Description
Gamelin, bishop of St Andrews, noting that Scone abbey has been miserably afflicted by the expenses on the fabric of the church, has confirmed for their own uses the grants and confirmations made by his predecessors, saving his episcopal rights, as freely as any abbey holds them in the kingdom of Scotland. He also wills and concedes that the canons may serve the churches in his diocese through suitable chaplains, and the canons may keep or remove these chaplains for the time being as they see fit.
