Description
Stephen, abbot of Cluny, makes known that, by petition of Humbald, prior of Wenlock (Shropshire), he grants and declares ratified chirograph made between prior and Walter son of Alan, steward of king of Scotland, of liberty of place called Paisley and convent constructed there. The abbot has accepted Walter, founder and grantor of that place, as a brother and decreed to partakers [there] all prayers of the whole Cluniac order.
