Description
William son of Patrick, for the welfare of his soul and that of Countess M., his wife, has given, granted, and established by his charter, to Kelso Abbey that toft in Greenlaw (BWK) which Liulf the head groom (Equicius) held below the church, lengthways towards the west, as the cemetery extends. Moreover, in the same villa, five acres of land and one ‘Rodam’ around ‘Cauchesterlawe’, between the church land and the land of Thomas son of Gilbert and between the land of Thomas of Coupland and the land which Nigel holds. He wills that this toft and land is to be held in free, pure and perpetual alms.
