Document 3/21/65 (Neville, Strathearn, Add. Chrs., no. 11)

Description
Fergus, son of the earl of Strathearn, has granted, and established by his charter, that donation which the lord Earl Robert, his brother, made to Coupar Angus Abbey, of one full oxgang of land in the territory of ‘Hureh’ (Meikleour, PER) for the sustenance of the Bridge of Isla, in pure and perpetual alms, as fully as the charter of Earl Robert his brother and the confirmation of the lord king over the said land bear witness. The lord abbot and monks of Coupar have granted to Fergus that the men living on the said land will make suit at Fergus’s court, providing that all forfeitures which may fall upon the men will go to the monastery. If it becomes necessary to execute judgements of water or iron or loss of limb or beheading or other forms of death, such execution may be carried out by Fergus’s men.
