Description
Pope Alexander III writes to John, abbot of Kelso, praising his devotion to Alexander himself and to the church of God and recalling that his abbey is a special daughter of the Roman church, thus, he indulges the privilege of wearing a mitre on appropriate days at mass in the church of Kelso, in processions in the monastery, and in papal councils.
