Description
Eustace de Balliol, lord of Tours, for the health of his lord, King Alexander and others, has granted, and by his charter established, to Holyrood Abbey that donation which Uhtred, son of Fergus, made to the same of the church of St Constantine of Colmanell, which was called ‘Kircostinyn’ (St Constantine of Urr, KCB) with the chapel of St Constantine, just as the charter of the same and the confirmation of King William bears witness. And, that donation which the same Uhtred made to the same of the church of St Brigid of Blaket (Kirkbride, in Nithsdale, DMF), just as the charter of the same and the confirmation of King William bears witness. And, the grant and confirmation which Ingram de Balliol, his father, made concerning their former tenure and the marches of their lands and churches of ‘Kircostinyn’ and Kirkbride, as his charter bears witness, and the grant of King Alexander confirms. To hold in pure and perpetual alms. He also resigns through his charter, for himself and his heirs, all right which he had in the said churches.
