Description
Master Hugh, archdeacon of Glasgow, Robert, precentor of Glasgow, Ralph, chaplain of the king of Scots, Master Christian, clerk, Philip of Partick, rector of the church of Rutherglen (LAN), have proclaimed a settlement in the case between Bishop Walter of Glasgow and Abbot William and the convent of Paisley concerning the tax assessment of the vicarages due to Glasgow from Paisley. It is decided that all the churches at the time in Strathgryf belonging to the bishop of Glasgow shall fall in perpetuity to the monastery for its use, saving the tax assessment of the vicarages: the church of (Old) Kilpatrick (DNB) shall have one lodging; the churches of Carmunnock (LAN) and Mearns (RNF) shall have one lodging; the churches of Rutherglen (LAN), Cathcart (LAN) and Pollock (LAN), shall have one lodging; the churches of Craigie (AYR) and Prestwick ‘of the monks’ (i.e. the other Prestiwck?, AYR) shall have one lodging; the church of Turnberry (AYR), shall have one lodging; the church of Prestwick of the burgh (AYR), the church of Neilston (RNF), and the church of Rosneath (DNB) shall be exempt from all procurations. The church of Erskine (RNF) which pertains to the monks of Paisley shall fall to the bishop of Glasgow, from which church he will pay a pension of 2 marks.
