Description
David of Graham son of David of Graham, for the salvation of his soul, has given, granted and by this his charter established to Kelso Abbey, in free pure and perpetual alms, the whole land that he held and possessed in the territory of Mellerstain (BWK) from the donation of Richard of Fans, namely two tofts in Mellerstain, one of which belonged to Adam, 21 acres in Whitefield and Kingseat and 35 acres near the River Eden, with all the facilities and freedoms of the villae of Mellerstain and Fans, free from all services, customs, exactions and demands.
